Relocation, Portability and Social Care

Last year the University of Hull conducted a research project, funded by the NIHR School for Social Care Research. This research focused on “Relocation, Portability and Social Care”. It explored the experiences of people who receive social care who have moved to a new local authority, and how social workers work to support people to move between areas. They contacted many organisations with requests to support in publicising the research, to ensure that people with experience of relocating to a new local authority were aware of the study. The researchers were able to contact people who had moved between local authorities, and have now completed the research. They have produced two reports which detail the key findings of the research and provide information (based on the research) for people who are moving to a new local authority. These reports are attached here; they can also be accessed via their website http://www2.hull.ac.uk/fass/carehull/portability-of-social-care.aspx
