Healthcare Review latest public event – Join us to explore how future models of care could improve our services
The next public forum about the Milton Keynes and Bedfordshire Healthcare Review will be on Wednesday 1 October from 6pm to 9pm at Christ the Cornerstone Church, 300 Saxon Gate, Central Milton Keynes MK9 2ES.
Over the last few months the Review team has been working with leading clinicians, GP practices, local organisations responsible for buying and managing health services in Milton Keynes, local specialist hospitals and the public to better understand the health needs of local patients. This is helping to define the key issues facing the NHS in Milton Keynes and neighbouring communities to identify a number of initial models of care on which to base future options.
Two themes have emerged so far:
- a need for greater integration and networking, with more services offered out of hospital, with GP practices, community services and social care providing one joined-up service;
- and the need for greater networking across the NHS, especially between local and specialist hospitals.
We will present findings so far, working through what these options mean for local services and for local people. Together with partners, patients and staff we hope to narrow down the options for the right way forward, which will provide a better quality, joined-up, responsive service, which we can afford for the next 25 years. Your participation is essential in helping us to identify the best options, on which we will then begin formally consulting towards the end of the year.
A finger buffet will be provided from 5.30pm, with refreshments throughout the evening.
There is ample parking directly outside the Church (free after 6pm).
