Our Board of Trustees have the responsibility of ensuring MK CIL delivers its strategic responsibilities as set out in the Strategic Plan. The Trustees are responsible for ensuring that we deliver what we promise and that we present the organisation in a professional manner at all times. There are 8 Trustees:

Derek Eastman – Derek has been a Trustee at MK CIL for several years. He has also been a trustee at Interaction MK since 2014. Derek is a retired Personnel and Training Manager. Derek is a council member of both Milton Keynes and Newport Pagnell Town Council and has recently (2014/15) been the serving Mayor of Milton Keynes.
Annette Holcroft – As well as being a Trustee, I work in the office as an Information Officer. I edit the newsletter and design our leaflets, posters and power point presentations.I also help with fundraising and am a Director of Westcroft Community Shop that supports CIL. I am a wheelchair user, since I broke my spinal cord in a road traffic accident when I was 20. I have a BA hons degree in Fine Art.”
Edith Dunse – Edith became disabled in 1986 with a spinal injury and has been volunteer at MK CIL for over 20 years and has been a Trustee for 18 years. Edith has actively served on many other Boards including the Volunteer Centre and Welfare Rights. Edith has also supported employers to help with their work with people who have disabilities, these have included the Benefits agency and British Telecom. Edith is an NVQ 3 level qualified Volunteer Coordinator
Chris Checkley – Chris has been a Trustee since 2007. Prior to that Chris was a co-opted member of Southwark Social Services for several years, a Trustee of CAB and run a sports club for the disabled. Chris is an active fundraiser and public speaker and a member of the Spinal Injuries Association giving much needed support to people with spinal injuries
Stephen Springer -Stephen Springer MBE rejoined the Board of MKCIL in 20??, having previously served from 1993-1997.
Stephen has a background in accounting and hospitality and has worked in various positions in the charity John Grooms, now Livability. Stephen was disabled in a road traffic accident in 1991.
Stephen has also served as a Trustee of Tourism for All, RADAR and the Spinal Injuries Association (including a year as Chairperson).

Valerie Williamson - I have been disabled from birth but have grasped opportunities when offered. My parents encouraged me to be independent. I had main stream education, worked until I retired. Since then have been a volunteer at CAB, Age UK and now CIL. I am a retired Paralympic athlete. I am also a trustee of CIL.
